    Eyes are held in reserve for a sight such as you.

    Were it not for savoring that sight, looking would not be praised.

    God has indeed honored people and made them happy

    With a glance from you that they won in their lifetimes.

    So may Eid bring you joy, and may those who gazed

    At your face on Eid day find joy in what they saw.

    You approached the prayer ground, and it, in its rapture,

    Almost rushes forward, running to meet you.

    والبيض تلمع والرايات تنتشر

    And horses surround you, and warriors stand in attendance;

    And white blades gleam, and banners unfurl.

    والشمس تظهر أحيانا وتستر

    And the horizon's openings have been barred by brown spears;

    And the sun appears at times and is concealed.

    And the light of your face extinguishes it with its splendor,

    And steals the light from it while it blazes.

    And if only you could see the people, their eyes straining upward,

    And the people, if struck with a sword, would not notice.

    When a man regains his senses, he gestures to his companion,

    Turning his palm over: 'Human beings are not like this!'

    تحار في كنهه الأوهام والفكر

    Your Lord has clothed you in light from His majesty;

    Imaginings and thoughts are baffled by its true nature.
