O abodes of union on the lower slope of al-Ghuwayr,
O melodies of union from the slopes of Ghuweir

And guard your bright days, even though
And protected your white days
They took my flourishing life away from me.
Though you departed from me in life's partner

To bring news of prosperous Nejd, O Samir

And if ever my reproacher is angered by them,
And if it angers you, take refuge with me
Increase his anger with tales of al-Sudayr.
And provoke him more with talk of Sedir

وزمانand a time مرpassed فيهنamong them قصيرbrief
وزمان مر فيهن قصير
How delightful are tales of love's ruins,
How good is news of the ruins of love
And the brief time spent among them!
And a time in which it was brief

قط الا رحت ذا جفن مطير
Ruined camps—never did I glimpse lightning from them
I never sensed from it a glimmer
Without coming away with an eyelid pouring rain.
Except I went with a weeping eye

نسمة تخجل أنفاس العبير
And whenever there blows, with the fragrance of their dust,
And whenever a scent blows from its soil
A breeze that puts the breaths of perfume to shame.
A breeze that shames the breaths of amber
