O son of Ali, no lofty honors have been lost;
O son of Ali, no favor has been wasted
through your support they have become secure.
With your support, it is kept intact

Whoever was envied for attaining them—
Whosoever was blessed to attain it
they, in turn, are envied for attaining you.
With your attainment, is blessed

How many a hand that is not withheld
and a blessing, never slighted,
And bounty that is not stinted

You have won my gratitude and pointed

To a love intermingled with the soul

And the noble, bountiful man—never does
The generous, virtuous one does not feel secure
wealth feel safe from his squandering on the morning of giving.
Lest wealth, after generosity, lead to neglect

The robe has arrived, and I have no excuse
The garment is sewn and I have no excuse
for wearing the robe without a waistcloth,
To don the garment without buttons

How, when your character is pleasing,
How could I when your morals are agreeable
can I keep its company while my lot is displeasing?
Accompany them while in deprivation

May time never draw my hand back from wealth,
May time not restrain my hand from bounty
while it is outstretched toward your bounty.
As it is outstretched toward your generosity
