أيّامُthe days دَهْرِكَyour lifetime كُلُّهاall of them أَعْيادُfestivals
أَبَداًforever عَلَيْكَfor you بِماwith whatever تَشاءُyou desire تُعادُare renewed
All the days of your life are festivals,
All the days of your life are festive
forever renewed for you with whatever you desire.
You are forever blessed with whatever you desire
لاlet not يَدْعُونَّكَcall you بِالْجَوادِby the title 'generous' مُقَصِّرٌone who falls short
وأَقَلُّand the least حَقِّكَyour due أَنْthat يُقالَit be said جَوادُgenerous
Let no one who falls short call you 'generous';
None call you stingy,
and 'generous' is the least you deserve to be called.
And the least you deserve is to be called generous
وَلَئِنْand even if غَدَوْتَyou have become الْفَرْدَthe peerless one فِيin نَيْلِattaining الْعُلىthe heights
وَالْمَجْدِand glory فَالْقَمَرُthen the moon الْمُنِيرُthe radiant فُرادُalone
And though you stand alone in attaining the heights
If you have attained singular success
and glory, the radiant moon too stands alone.
In reaching the heights and glory, the bright moon is but a solitary radiance
وَأَمَاand indeed وَجُودِكَby your generosity ياO سَعِيدُSa'id فَإِنَّهُfor it indeed
ذُخْرٌa treasure لِكُلِّfor every مُؤَمِّلٍhopeful seeker وَعَتادُand provision
And indeed, by your generosity, O Sa'id, it is
As for your generosity, O fortunate one, it is
a treasure and provision for every hopeful seeker.
A treasure for all who hope and take refuge
لَقَدِindeed اسْتَفادَhas gained بِكَthrough you الزَّمانُTime فَضِيلَةًa virtue
ماnot خالَهاit imagined it أَبَدَthroughout the span of الزَّمانِtime تُفادُcould be gained
Through you, Time has indeed gained a virtue
Through you time gained merit
it never thought could be gained in all eternity.
The like of which time will never lose
كَمْhow many مِنْof يَدٍa favor لَكَof yours قَدْindeed وَسَمْتَyou have marked بِعَهْدِهاthrough its renewal
جُوداًgenerosity كَماjust as وسَمَmarked الرِّياضَthe meadows عِهادُrecurring rains
With the renewal of so many favors of yours, you have marked
Many are the hands which your pact
generosity, as recurring rains have marked the meadows.
Has marked with generosity, as the meadows are marked by rain
أَوْلَيْتِنِيyou bestowed on me نِعَماًfavors أَقَلُّthe least ثَنائِهاpraise of them
بَيْنِيbetween me وََيْنَand between الْفِكْرِthought فِيهِconcerning it جِهادُa struggle
You have bestowed on me favors whose slightest praise
You have favoured me with gifts, the least of whose praise
leaves me struggling with thought.
Would task my mind to fully extol
كَلَّفْتَنِيyou charged me بِنَداكَthrough your bounty عَدَّto count مَناقِبٍvirtues
يَفْنىruns out الثَّناءُpraise وَماand no لَهُنَّfor them نَفادُend
By your bounty, you have charged me to count virtues;
You have burdened me with your numerous virtues
praise runs out, but they have no end.
Whose praise is infinite and knows no end
فَبِعَطْفِكَso through your kindness الإِنْجاءُdeliverance وَالإِنْجادُand aid لِيfor me
وَبِكَفِّكَand through your hand الإِسْعافُrelief وَالإِسْعادُand happiness
Thus through your kindness come deliverance and aid for me,
Through your kindness comes my salvation and deliverance
and through your hand, relief and happiness.
And by your palm, my wellbeing and prosperity
لاmay never زالَcease to be رَبْعُكَyour abode لِلْمَطالِبِfor aspirations مَرْبَعاًa spring pasture
يَحْيىfind life بِهِin it الْوُرّادُthose coming for water وَالرُّوادُand pasture-seeking scouts
May your abode remain a spring pasture for seekers,
Your abode remains ever a place where desires are fulfilled
where those coming for water and those seeking pasture find life.
Where seekers and visitors alike find life
وَبَقِيتَand may you endure ماas long as بَقِيَendures الرَّجاءُhope فَإِنَّهُfor it
جِسْمٌa body وَنائِلُكَand your bounty الْجَزِيلُabundant فُؤادُa heart
And may you endure as long as hope endures, for it
And you remain, for as long as hope remains,
is a body, and your abundant bounty is its heart.
And your great heart is the attainment of my hopes
