We do not obtain pardon, our Lord forgives mistake,
And desolation stripped bare the dwellings that shelter him.
And naked are meadows that contain forgiveness,

Like poverty after wealth are its poverty,
And his singing is torment to listeners.

It complains of estrangement, and perhaps it prevents coyness
From one whose face has no shame.
From a coquetry in which there is no coyness.
