تباعد عن دنئ دنيوي

ولا تك غير فضل الله راج

Keep away from a base, worldly man,

Distance yourself from the lowly worldly life

And hope for nothing but God's grace.

And do not seek anything but the grace of God

ألم تر أن طول القرب يردي

مزاجك عند منفسد المزاج

مزاجك عند منفسد المزاج

Have you not seen that prolonged closeness ruins

Have you not seen that long intimacy corrupts

Your temperament beside one of corrupt temperament?

Your temperament when the temperament is corrupted

كبحر مازجته عذاب ماء

كبحر مازجته عذاب ماء

فغالب طبعها طبع الأجاج

فغالب طبعها طبع الأجاج

Like a sea mingled with sweet waters:

Like a sea mixed with the torture of water

The brine's nature overpowers theirs.

So its nature overcomes the nature of vitriol

وكن فيما ابتليت به حليف صبر

وكن فيما ابتليت به حليف صبر

فإن الداء يسهل بالعلاج

فإن الداء يسهل بالعلاج

And in whatever afflicts you, be an ally of patience,

And be patient with what you are tested with

For illness eases with treatment.

For the disease is eased by the cure

وناج به الإله فكم مناج

وناج به الإله فكم مناج

له أمسى من العلات ناج

له أمسى من العلات ناج

And confide in God about it, for many who confide

And pray to God for how many pray

In Him have become free of ailments.

To Him in the evening of illnesses cured
