فلقدfor indeed شعرتI felt بعجزof the helplessness of صبريmy patience والهوىand passion
فلقد شعرت بعجز صبري والهوى
فيin القلبthe heart امضيsharper منthan لسانthe tongue of الشاعرthe poet
في القلب امضي من لسان الشاعر
For I have felt my patience's helplessness, and passion
For I have felt the inadequacy of my patience and passion
In the heart is sharper than the poet's tongue.
In my heart, stronger than a poet's tongue
ومنand among العجائبthe wonders صبرthe patience of قلبa heart عاجزhelpless
ومن العجائب صبر قلب عاجز
عمنapart from the one whom يحبit loves وعجزand the helplessness of قلبa heart صابرpatient
عمن يحب وعجز قلب صابر
And among the wonders is a helpless heart's patience
And of wonders, the patience of a helpless heart
Apart from the one it loves, and a patient heart's helplessness.
For one's beloved, yet the heart of the patient is helpless
