فأن عثار الأكرمين يقال

Forgive my missteps, time after time;

Lead me astray again and again

For the missteps of the noblest are forgiven.

For to err is said to be noble

ولا تبلني حمل الحوادث عالماً

ولا تبلني حمل الحوادث عالماً

بصبري فأن الحادثات ثقال

بصبري فأن الحادثات ثقال

And do not test me with the burden of calamities, knowing

And do not overwhelm me with the burden of events,

My patience, for calamities are heavy.

Knowing my patience, for happenings can be oppressive
