  1. أعليت قدرك في الورى فوضعتني

    وحفظت عهدك في الورى فأضعتني

    I raised your standing among humankind, yet you brought me low.

    And I kept your covenant among humankind, yet you neglected me.

  2. وغدوت تظهر لي بأنك ذو غنى

    أبعين مفتقر إليك نظرتني

    And you began to show me that you were self-sufficient.

    Did you look upon me as one in need of you?
