اصبر على الضر ولا تُمس عن

اصبر على الضر ولا تُمس عن

شكرك فضل اللَه باللاهي

شكرك فضل اللَه باللاهي

Bear adversity patiently, and do not be

Be patient in adversity, do not cease

heedless of giving thanks for God's bounty.

Thanking God for his bounty

وانتظر الرحمة من قوله

وانتظر الرحمة من قوله

لا تقنطوا من رحمة اللَه

لا تقنطوا من رحمة اللَه

And await mercy, as He says:

And await mercy from his word

Do not despair of God's mercy.

"Do not despair of God's mercy"

صبرك قد يعيبك أولاه

صبرك قد يعيبك أولاه

لكنه يرضيك عقباه

لكنه يرضيك عقباه

Your patience may bring you reproach at first,

Patience may disappoint you at first

but its outcome will please you.

But its sequel pleases you

فرب خطب بعدما ارتجت

فرب خطب بعدما ارتجت

ابوابه فرجه اللَه

ابوابه فرجه اللَه

For many a calamity, after the closing

Many a mishap has been followed

of its doors, God brought relief.
