  1. غير بدع إذا ظلمت بدهر

    رزق الغمر فيه حظاً عظيما

    It is no wonder if you are wronged by an age

    in which the fool is granted a great share of fortune.

  2. فالهواء الصحيح يدعى عليلا

    والمصاب اللديغ يسمى سليما

    For wholesome air is called “ailing,”

    and the stricken, snakebitten man is called “sound.”
