وذقت مرارة الأمر الكريه
I have experienced all the calamities of the days,
And tasted the bitterness of loathsome affairs;
فماyet not عاينتI have seen اشنعmore dreadful منthan عناءsuffering
فما عاينت اشنع من عناء
يعانيهhe endures it النبيهthe discerning man منfrom السفيهthe fool
يعانيه النبيه من السفيه
Yet I have seen nothing more dreadful than the suffering
That the discerning man endures at the hands of the fool.
