To death I shall return after a time; and if I die,

my virtues have already been immortalized for as long as time endures.

And my renown has flown across the horizons, as though it were

the fragrance of a budding-breasted virgin upon every tongue.

For in what branch of learning have my racing steeds not excelled?

And in what art have my battalions not prevailed?
