Like an amazed beholder from the eye astonished
كأذرعlike the arms of الغيدgraceful maidens فيin خضرgreen البرودthe mantles جلتdisplayed
كأذرع الغيد في خضر البرود جلت
علىupon أناملهاtheir fingertips صفرyellow اليواقيتthe sapphires
على أناملها صفر اليواقيت
like graceful maidens' arms in green mantles, displaying
Like the arms of a young girl in the green of the frock it reveals
yellow sapphires upon their fingertips;
Yellow topaz on her fingers
كأنهas though it were وضعافwhile frail القضبthe stems تحملهbear it
كأنه وضعاف القضب تحمله
أوائلthe first flickers of النارfire فيat أطرافthe tips of كبريتsulfur
أوائل النار في أطراف كبريت
as though, while frail stems bear it, it were
As if weak reeds carry it
the first flickers of fire at the tips of sulfur.
