No one is safe from the sultan
No ruler feels secure
who angers the aides.
If his aides are enraged,

سَهل مِن الأُمور
For the emir's anger
For angering the prince

His aides are his limbs;
Aides who are his organs,
his whims are his ailments.
His inclinations, his remedies-

يَهيجون الإحنا
They make the good seem ugly,
They make fair seem foul,
they stir up grudges,
And stir up discord,

وَيُفسِدون الأَصلحا
they make the ugliest seem good,
Commend what is ugly,
and corrupt what is best.
Corrupt what is sound,

جاءوا بِكُلِّ مُنكَرَه
When they see a change in him,
When they note his change of heart
they bring every reprehensible deed of his.
They come with every evil.
