كيفماwhichever way درتَyou turn بهِwith it درتُI turn معَهwith it
كيفما درتَ بهِ درتُ معَه
May my father be a ransom for your face—how beautiful it is!
By your face, how beautiful it is!
Whichever way you turn it, I turn with it.
Wherever you turn with it, I turn with it too.
هوit شمسٌa sun وأناand I حِرchame- (word fragment) باؤُهُ-leon, its (word fragment)
هو شمسٌ وأنا حِر باؤُهُ
فلذاand so أقبلturns toward وجهيmy face مَطلَعَهits place of rising
فلذا أقبل وجهي مَطلَعَه
It is a sun, and I am its chameleon.
It is the sun, and I am a planet in its orbit.
And so my face turns toward its place of rising.
