ولا روحَ للمحبوسِ ما دام في الحبسِ

I want the days to heal my soul.

I want the days to heal my soul

And there is no respite for the prisoner as long as he remains in prison.

A jailed soul has no life whilst jailed

أمنتُ سباعَ الوحش وهي مَخُوفَةٌ

أمنتُ سباعَ الوحش وهي مَخُوفَةٌ

وخفِتُ سباعَ الإنسِ والشرُّ في الإنسِ

وخفِتُ سباعَ الإنسِ والشرُّ في الإنسِ

I felt safe from wild beasts, though they are feared.

I trusted the beasts of prey though they were fearful

And I feared the beasts of humankind, and evil dwells in humankind.

And feared the beasts of men, evil lies within man
