رحيبُspacious رِواقِportico of الحلِمِforbearance يكفيspares اعتذارُهُhis apology
رحيبُ رِواقِ الحلِمِ يكفي اعتذارُهُ
إلىto المذنبthe guilty one الجانيthe offender اختلاقَinventing المعاذِرِexcuses
إلى المذنب الجاني اختلاقَ المعاذِرِ
His forbearance has a spacious portico; his apology spares
The broad courtyard of dreams is apology enough
The guilty offender the need to invent excuses.
To the guilty sinner who fabricates excuses
فليسfor he is not وحاشاهُand far be it from him لإحسانِof the kindness of محُسنٍa benefactor
فليس وحاشاهُ لإحسانِ محُسنٍ
بِناسٍforgetful ولاnor للمحفظاتِof provocations بذاكرِmindful
بِناسٍ ولا للمحفظاتِ بذاكرِ
For he never—far be it from him—lets a benefactor’s kindness
So it would be wrong for the kindness of the benevolent
Be forgotten, nor does he remember provocations.
