بجديدٍfor someone new فذاكَfor that شرُّthe worst بديلِreplacement
بجديدٍ فذاكَ شرُّ بديلِ
Do not sell me, when you have known my affection,
Do not follow me when you know my love is new
for someone new; that is the worst replacement.
That would be the worst replacement
فلَسمٌfor indeed a poison مجرَّبٌtested لكَfor you فاعلَمso know
فلَسمٌ مجرَّبٌ لكَ فاعلَم
ذاكَthat خيرٌbetter منthan سُكرٍsugar مجهولِunknown
ذاكَ خيرٌ من سُكرٍ مجهولِ
For, know this: a poison you have tried
For you have a proven medicine, so know
is better than unknown sugar.
That is better than an unknown sweetness
