أضاءَت الأرضُ به وأشرَقَت

لمّا تَجَلى وجهُهُ وأطلعا
The earth lit up through him and grew radiant
The earth shone brightly when his face appeared
when his face appeared and rose,
As he emerged, it began to gleam and glow
مثلlike مُحَيَّاthe countenance of ابنIbn (son of) الحكيمal-Hakim (the wise) لاحَshone فيin

ظلامِ خطبٍ مشكل فانصدَعا
like the countenance of Ibn al-Hakim, which shone in
Like Muhiya, son of the Wise, whose light broke through
the darkness of a perplexing calamity, and the darkness split apart.
The darkness of perplexing discourse, piercing night's woe
