الحمدpraise للّهto God حمداًa praise زاكيpure الأثرِthe effect
الحمد للّه حمداً زاكي الأثرِ
مردّدrepeated الذكرthe remembrance بالآصالin the evenings والبكرِand in the early mornings
مردّد الذكر بالآصال والبكرِ
Praise be to God—a praise of pure effect,
Praise be to Allah, praise with lasting effect
repeated in remembrance in the evenings and early mornings.
Repeating the mention at nightfall and dawn
واللهand God أكبرgreatest تعظيماًin reverence لعزَّتِهِfor His might
والله أكبر تعظيماً لعزَّتِهِ
سبحانهglory be to Him وتعالىand exalted is He منزلthe revealer of السورِthe surahs
سبحانه وتعالى منزل السورِ
And God is greatest, in reverence for His might.
And Allah is Greatest, exalting His might
Glory be to Him, and exalted is He, the revealer of the surahs.

ولاand no إلهgod سواهother than Him جَلَّHe is exalted عنabove مَثَلٍa likeness
ولا إله سواه جَلَّ عن مَثَلٍ
وعنand above نظيرa peer وعنand above كفّan equal وعنand above وزرِa refuge
وعن نظير وعن كفّ وعن وزرِ
And there is no god but Him; He is exalted above any likeness,
There is no god but Him, far exalted is He
and above any peer, any equal, or any refuge.
