مَولى النَّدى عَفواً مفاتِحُهُ

مَولى النَّدى عَفواً مفاتِحُهُ

من غير مَسألَةٍ ولا وعدِ

من غير مَسألَةٍ ولا وعدِ

Lord of bounty, whose keys are freely offered,

The master of benevolence, his keys

Without a request or a promise.

Are given without asking or promise made;

تلقَى الوفودَ بِبابِهِ زُمراً

تلقَى الوفودَ بِبابِهِ زُمراً

ما بَينَ مُستَعدٍ ومُستَجدِي

ما بَينَ مُستَعدٍ ومُستَجدِي

You find delegations at his door in throngs,

Crowds at his door come seeking boons unbid—

Some seeking redress, others seeking gifts.

Petitioners all, expectant and in need.
