Give me drink—welcome to the pouring and the cupbearer—

Pure wine through which joy rose to its feet.

And no morsels but marvels of wisdom,

And no cup but lines and pages.

For it has brought forth rapture after rapture,

Imparting a spirituality rich in savors.

From its splendid script comes delight for my sight

And my hearing; the soul’s share comes from its enduring portion.
