يا طَالِب العلم هذا بَابُهُ فُتِحَا

يا طَالِب العلم هذا بَابُهُ فُتِحَا

فادخُل تُشاهد سَناهُ لاحَ شمسَ ضُحَى

فادخُل تُشاهد سَناهُ لاحَ شمسَ ضُحَى

O seeker of knowledge, its gate here has been opened.

So enter and behold its radiance, shining like the midmorning sun.

واشكُر مُجِيرَكَ من حَلِّ وَمُرتَحلٍ

واشكُر مُجِيرَكَ من حَلِّ وَمُرتَحلٍ

إذ قَرَّبَ اللهُ مِن مَرمَاكَ ما نَزَحَا

إذ قَرَّبَ اللهُ مِن مَرمَاكَ ما نَزَحَا

And thank the one who spares you halting and journeying,

For God has brought within your reach what lay far away.

وَشرَّفَت حَضرَةَ الإسلام مدرَسَةً

وَشرَّفَت حَضرَةَ الإسلام مدرَسَةً

بها سبيلُ الهدَى والعِلمِ قَد وَضُحَا

بها سبيلُ الهدَى والعِلمِ قَد وَضُحَا

And a school has ennobled the seat of Islam;

Through it, the path of guidance and knowledge has become clear.

أعمالُ يوسفَ مَولانَا ونيّتُهُ

أعمالُ يوسفَ مَولانَا ونيّتُهُ

قد طُرِّزَت صُحفاً ميزانُهَا رجحا

قد طُرِّزَت صُحفاً ميزانُهَا رجحا

The deeds of Yusuf, our lord, and his intention

Have been embroidered on pages that weigh heavy in the balance.
