وبلادُ أندلسٍ فريسَةُ كافر

وبلادُ أندلسٍ فريسَةُ كافر

يُملي عَليها وَعدَهُ ووعيدَهُ

يُملي عَليها وَعدَهُ ووعيدَهُ

And the land of al-Andalus is an unbeliever's prey;

he dictates to it his promise and his threat.

يُسدِي ويُلحِمُ يَبتَغِي إخلاَصَهَا

يُسدِي ويُلحِمُ يَبتَغِي إخلاَصَهَا

فقيامه مكرٌ بها وقعودُهُ

فقيامه مكرٌ بها وقعودُهُ

He lays the warp and weaves the weft, seeking to make it wholly his;

for his rising and his sitting alike are schemes against it.

والدينُ فيها زاهقٌ قد كاد أن

والدينُ فيها زاهقٌ قد كاد أن

يُمحي بِتثلِيثِ العِدَا تَوحِيدُهُ

يُمحي بِتثلِيثِ العِدَا تَوحِيدُهُ

And the faith there is perishing; it has nearly

had its belief in God's oneness erased by the foes' Trinity.

فإذا بحزِب اللهِ ناصرِ دينه

فإذا بحزِب اللهِ ناصرِ دينه

زأرتَ على حِزبِ الصَّلِيبِ أسودُهُ

زأرتَ على حِزبِ الصَّلِيبِ أسودُهُ

Then behold the host of God, champion of His faith:

its lions roared against the host of the Cross.

فاستنقذوها وهي في لهواته

فاستنقذوها وهي في لهواته

من بَعدِ خَطبٍ شابَ مِنهُ وليدُهُ

من بَعدِ خَطبٍ شابَ مِنهُ وليدُهُ

So they rescued it while it lay in his maw,

after a calamity that turned even its newborn gray.

فالنصرُ أوَّلُهُ وآخِرُهُ لَكُم

فالنصرُ أوَّلُهُ وآخِرُهُ لَكُم

والله مُبدِئُهُبكم ومُعِيدُهُ

والله مُبدِئُهُبكم ومُعِيدُهُ

So victory, from first to last, is yours,

and God brings it forth through you and renews it.

والدين أنتم ردؤُهُ وحُمَاتُهُ

والدين أنتم ردؤُهُ وحُمَاتُهُ

وبعزمِكُم وسيوفِكُم تأييدُه

وبعزمِكُم وسيوفِكُم تأييدُه

And you are the faith's support and its defenders;

and through your resolve and your swords it is upheld.
