أماas for مداكَyour reach فغايةٌthen a goal لمnot تُلحَقِattained
أما مداكَ فغايةٌ لم تُلحَقِ
أعيَتproved unattainable علىfor غُرِّwhite-blazed الجِيادِfine steeds السُبَّقِforemost
أعيَت على غُرِّ الجِيادِ السُبَّقِ
As for your reach, it is a goal never attained,
Your outstretched hand cannot be matched,
Beyond the white-blazed, foremost steeds.
Horses exhausted from racing cannot keep up.
فاشرَحso clarify بِسَعدِكَwith your good fortune كُلَّevery مَعنىًmeaning مُشكِلٍobscure
فاشرَح بِسَعدِكَ كُلَّ مَعنىً مُشكِلٍ
وافتَحand open بِسَيفِكَwith your sword كُلَّevery بابٍdoor مُغلَقِclosed
وافتَح بِسَيفِكَ كُلَّ بابٍ مُغلَقِ
So clarify with your good fortune every obscure meaning,
With your fortune, clarify every ambiguous meaning,
And open with your sword every closed door.
With your sword, open every locked door.
واغزُand assail العِداthe foes واصدَعand proclaim بعَزمِكَwith your resolve مُطلعاًbringing forth
واغزُ العِدا واصدَع بعَزمِكَ مُطلعاً
نورَthe light الفُتوحِof conquests بمغربٍin the west ومشرقِand the east
نورَ الفُتوحِ بمغربٍ ومشرقِ
And assail the foes and proclaim your resolve, bringing forth
March against the enemy, break forth with your resolve,
The light of conquests in west and east.
Bringing the light of victory to West and East.
لِلَّهِfor God منكَfrom you مَشاهِدٌdeeds مَشهورةٌrenowned
لِلَّهِ منكَ مَشاهِدٌ مَشهورةٌ
عندin the sight of الإلهِGod بِمثلِهاwith their like لمnot تُسبَقِhave you been surpassed
عند الإلهِ بِمثلِها لم تُسبَقِ
For God you have performed renowned deeds;
For God, you have renowned scenes,
In God's sight, none has surpassed you with their like.
The likes of which were never witnessed by God before.
مثلُsuch as الحفيرِthe trench بهاin them الذيwhich باشَرتَهُyou personally undertook it
مثلُ الحفيرِ بها الذي باشَرتَهُ
فِعلَthe deed الرسولِof the Messenger وَصَحبِهِand his companions فيin الخَندَقِthe Trench
فِعلَ الرسولِ وَصَحبِهِ في الخَندَقِ
Such as the trench there, which you worked on yourself,
Like the ditch you undertook,
As the Messenger and his companions did at the Trench.
Emulating the acts of the Messenger and his companions.
وَكَفىand it suffices بِنِيَّتِكَfor your intention الكَريمَةnoble أَنَّهاthat it
وَكَفى بِنِيَّتِكَ الكَريمَة أَنَّها
تَهدِيshows السَّبيلَthe way بِنورِهاwith its light المُتألِّقِradiant
تَهدِي السَّبيلَ بِنورِها المُتألِّقِ
And it is enough for your noble intention that it
It suffices that your noble intention
Shows the way with its radiant light.
Guides the way with its radiant light.
فأَكرِمso how noble بهاit is منas a غَزوَةٍcampaign مَنصورَةٍvictorious
فأَكرِم بها من غَزوَةٍ مَنصورَةٍ
طلعتrose علىupon الدنياthe world بوجهٍwith a face مشرقِradiant
طلعت على الدنيا بوجهٍ مشرقِ
How noble, then, is this victorious campaign,
So honor it with a victorious raid
Which rose upon the world with a radiant face.
That dawns upon the world with a shining face.
