And so it is as though it were a garden abundantly watered
As though it were a garden watered
By pouring rain-clouds from the morning cloudbank.
By the early-morning raincloud's downpour.
فتفتحthen blossomed النوارthe blossoms فيin ساحاتهاits courtyards
فتفتح النوار في ساحاتها
فمدبجand so, brocaded ومفضّضand silvered ومذهّبand gilded
فمدبج ومفضّض ومذهّب
Then blossoms opened in its courtyards:
So blossoms opened in its squares,
Some brocaded, some silvered, and some gilded.
Colored, embroidered, gilded o'er.
