وكم آيةٍ للمصطفى نُورُهَا انجَلَى

وكم آيةٍ للمصطفى نُورُهَا انجَلَى

وحسبُكَ إن سحّ الغمَامُ وظلَّلاَ

وحسبُكَ إن سحّ الغمَامُ وظلَّلاَ

And how many a miracle of the Chosen One—its light has shone forth!

How many a sign for Al-Mustafa, whose light shone through,

And it suffices you if the clouds poured rain and cast shade

It's enough that the clouds drew apart and gave shade,

له وأبانت نطقها ظبيةُ الفَلاَ

له وأبانت نطقها ظبيةُ الفَلاَ

تنآءى فحنّ الجذعُ شوقاً فَكَيفَ لا

تنآءى فحنّ الجذعُ شوقاً فَكَيفَ لا

for him, and the gazelle of the wilderness made her speech plain.

For it, and the doe of the wilderness made its words clear,

He drew away, and the trunk moaned with longing—so how could

It called out, so the trunk curved in yearning, then how could

يحنُ له قلبي وتنهلُّ مقلتي

يحنُ له قلبي وتنهلُّ مقلتي

my heart not yearn for him and my eye not stream with tears?

My heart not yearn for him, and my eyelids not weep?
