whenever a gleaming flash of lightning sets it in motion.

he entrusts to it whatever he entrusts of his longing.

O glance he sent forth furtively!

The tormented heart became its follower.

How many a night he spent watching

the stars therein, setting and rising,

longing for days of union that never ceased

fulfilling wishes in those days and giving delight.
