There arose, unfurling the banners of generosity,
It rose, unfurling the banners of generosity:
a blessing holding every blessing within it;
a blessing containing every blessing.

أثبتت في الفخر لي أيّ قدم

And a hand through which my hand reached the bright stars
set for me—what a footing!—in glory:
secured for me such a firm footing in glory.

A lofty station for me among the heights, beyond reach;
a might whose flank can never be violated.
a might whose flank cannot be humbled.

What gracious regard, whose lights have shone forth,
What care, whose lights shone forth,
and largesse that shames the rainclouds’ pouring!
and bounty that shames the downpour of steady rains!

It has struck me dumb; my thoughts are in disarray,
It left me speechless; my heart is bewildered [probable reading],
and my tongue is caught between faltering and muteness.
and my tongue lies between faltering and muteness.

Were I to string shooting stars and pearls together,
If I strung bright stars and pearls together,
they would not suffice to praise those noble qualities.
they would not suffice to praise those virtues.

صلة الندب الرضى الحبر العلَم
It joined the strands of my glory among humankind:
The cords of my glory among humankind were joined
the gift of the noble, well-pleasing sage, the renowned one.
by the gift of the generous, worthy scholar, the luminary.
