ياO منone who يُصارعwrestles منone who لاno شكَّdoubt يصرعُهُthrows him down
يا من يُصارع من لا شكَّ يصرعُهُ
Leave alone what you cannot ward off from yourself.
Leave that which you cannot repel
O you who wrestle one who will surely throw you down!
O you who wrestles one who will surely overpower you
جاءتhave appeared طرائقُstreaks شعرٍhair أنتyou تنتفهاyou pluck them
جاءت طرائقُ شعرٍ أنت تنتفها
فكيفso how تصنعwould you act لوif قدalready جاءappeared أجمعُهُall of it
فكيف تصنع لو قد جاء أجمعُهُ
Streaks of hair have appeared, and you pluck them;
The paths of poetry you pluck have come
So what would you do if all of it appeared?
So how will you act if it all comes together?

God is greatest! I never cease to marvel.
God is Great, I cannot cease to wonder
Is it you who reap what the Lord of the Throne sows?
Do you reap what the Lord of the Throne sows?

ترعى حمىً خالقُ الأحماءِ يمنعُهُ
Woe to your striving—nay, woe to your mother, for
Woe to your efforts! Woe to your mother when
You graze in a protected pasture that the Creator of protected pastures guards.
You tend a sanctuary the Creator of sanctuaries forbids!
