بة من لا يُصرِّحُ

May he never know the affection of the beloved—

he who does not speak openly.

If you saw him, like a gazelle, passing one way

at times, and then the other,

خِلتَ غُصناً على كثيبٍ

خِلتَ غُصناً على كثيبٍ

بنورٍ يُوَشَّحُ

بنورٍ يُوَشَّحُ

you would imagine a bough upon a sand dune,

adorned with blossoms.
