ولستand you do not ترىsee منfrom غدرةٍan act of treachery أبداًever بداan escape
Do you think you will escape unscathed as the days pass,
yet you never see any alternative to treachery?
ألستare you not الذيthe one who آليتyou swore باللَهby God جاهداًearnestly يميناًan oath
وخنتand you betrayed اللَهGod موثقهHis binding covenant عمداdeliberately
Are you not the one who swore by God a solemn oath,
and deliberately betrayed God in His binding covenant?
ألاAh! فيin سبيلthe cause of اللَهGod ودٌّlove بذلتهI bestowed it
لمنon one who خاننيbetrayed me وديmy love ولمand did not يرعhonor ليto me عهداa pledge
Ah, for God's sake was the love I bestowed
on one who betrayed me in my love and kept no pledge to me.
أباحَlaid open to violation حمىthe sanctuary of الميثاقthe covenant واللَهwhile God بينناbetween us
فلمand so did not يُبقِleave للميثاقِfor the covenant قبلاًbefore ولاnor بعداafter
He laid the covenant's sanctuary open to violation, though God was between us,
and left nothing of the covenant, before or after.
فليتكso, if only you لاnot تجزىbe repaid بماwith what أنتyou أهلهdeserve it
وإنeven though كنتyou had قدalready أشرقتنيmade me choke بدميon my blood حقداout of spite
So, if only you were not repaid as you deserve,
though you have made me choke on my blood out of spite.
عدمتكmay I be rid of you منas a قلبٍheart أقامremained steadfast لغادرٍfor a traitor

May I be rid of you, O heart that remained loyal to a traitor,
holding to the pledge until it nearly killed me with longing.
