غزالٌ ما اجتلاه الطرفُ إلا
تحيرنيbewilders me ملاحةُthe loveliness of وجنتيهِhis two cheeks
تحيرني ملاحةُ وجنتيهِ
A gazelle—whenever the eye beholds him,
A gazelle, when my eyes beheld,
the loveliness of his cheeks bewilders me.
Left me bewildered by his beauty rare,
خذواtake vengeance بدميfor my blood محاسنهhis charms وخصواand single out
خذوا بدمي محاسنه وخصوا
مقبلهhis mouth وبردَand the coolness of ثنيتيهِhis two front teeth
مقبله وبردَ ثنيتيهِ
Take vengeance for my blood on his charms, and single out
Seize his charms and spare, I pray,
his mouth and the coolness of his two front teeth.
His comely face and neck so fair.
