so cease blaming me, you two men.

content with false promises and hopes.

has long been wasted by far-flung separation.

in my heart, nor complain of the afflictions of my days.

Beside the hill overlooking the protected pasture

were it not for tears, I would fear they might burn.

and coquetry, as tender branches sway.

among its lashes is reckoned a spearhead.

For beauty is kin to kindness.

    beneath night's darkness, on a bow-curved, resonant-voiced she-camel.

and she flags, with the twang of third and second strings.

over the dust is like a serpent's wallow.

Her ear-hollows and the hollow of her eye socket stream

with sweat the color of pomegranate juice.

    nose-roped, with saddle-straps and a girth,

    monks' lamps amid the assembly.

they thrust with them, were eagles' talons.

cover with them the places where crowns rest.

as no builder among humankind has built,

have vied, boasting of you, with the people of every age.
