ظَهَرَappeared الهُدىguidance وَتَجَمَّلَand became adorned الإِسلامُIslam
ظَهَرَ الهُدى وَتَجَمَّلَ الإِسلامُ
وَابنُand the son of الرَسولِthe Messenger خَلِيفَةٌa caliph وَإِمامُand an imam
وَابنُ الرَسولِ خَلِيفَةٌ وَإِمامُ
Guidance has appeared, and Islam is adorned;
Guidance has emerged and Islam has become beautiful,
And the Messenger's son is caliph and imam.
And the son of the Messenger is the Caliph and Imam.
مُستَنصِرٌMustansir (seeking aid) بِاللَهِthrough God لَيسَnot يَفُوتُهُeludes him
مُستَنصِرٌ بِاللَهِ لَيسَ يَفُوتُهُ
طَلَبٌa quest وَلاand not يَعتاصُis too difficult عَنهُfor him مَرامُa goal
طَلَبٌ وَلا يَعتاصُ عَنهُ مَرامُ
Mustansir bi-llah—never beyond his reach
Seeking help from Allah, nothing escapes him,
Is what he seeks, nor is any goal too hard for him.
No quest evades him nor aim eludes him.
حاطَprotected البِلادَthe lands وَباتَand spent the night تَسهَرُstays awake عَينُهُhis eye
حاطَ البِلادَ وَباتَ تَسهَرُ عَينُهُ
وَعُيونُand the eyes of سُكّانِthe inhabitants of البِلادِthe lands نِيامُasleep
وَعُيونُ سُكّانِ البِلادِ نِيامُ
He guarded the lands and spent the night with his eye awake,
He has encompassed the lands and his eyes stay awake
While the eyes of the lands' inhabitants slept.
While the eyes of the lands' inhabitants are sleeping.
قَصرُthe palace of الإِمامِthe imam أَبِيAbu (father of) تَمِيمٍTamim كَعبَةٌa Kaaba
قَصرُ الإِمامِ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ كَعبَةٌ
وَيَمِينُهُand his right hand رُكنٌa corner لَهاfor it وَمَقامُand a station
وَيَمِينُهُ رُكنٌ لَها وَمَقامُ
The palace of Imam Abu Tamim is a Kaaba,
The palace of Imam Abi Tameem is like the Kaaba
And his right hand is its corner and its station.
And his right hand is a pillar and station for it.
لَولاwere it not for بَنُوthe sons of الزَهراءِal-Zahra ماnot عُرِفَwas known التُقىpiety
لَولا بَنُو الزَهراءِ ما عُرِفَ التُقى
فِيناamong us وَلاnor تَبِعَfollowed الهُدىguidance الأَقوامُthe peoples
فِينا وَلا تَبِعَ الهُدى الأَقوامُ
But for the sons of al-Zahra, piety would not have been known
If not for the Family of Zahra piety would not be known among us
Among us, nor would the peoples have followed guidance.
Nor would the nations follow guidance.
ياO آلَfamily of أَحمَدَAhmad ثُبِّتَتmay be made firm أَقدامُكُمyour feet
يا آلَ أَحمَدَ ثُبِّتَت أَقدامُكُم
وَتَزَلزَلَتand may quake بِعِداكُمbeneath your enemies الأَقدامُthe feet
وَتَزَلزَلَت بِعِداكُم الأَقدامُ
O family of Ahmad, may your feet be made firm,
O Family of Ahmad, your feet have been made firm
And may your enemies' feet quake.
While by your enemies feet have slipped.
لَستُمyou are not وَغَيرُكُمand others besides you سَواءًalike أَنتُمُyou
لَستُم وَغَيرُكُم سَواءً أَنتُمُ
لِلدِّينِfor the faith أَرواحٌsouls وَهُمand they أَجسامُbodies
لِلدِّينِ أَرواحٌ وَهُم أَجسامُ
You and others are not alike: you are
You and others are not equal, you
The souls of the faith, while they are bodies.
Are the souls of the religion and they are the bodies.
ياO آلَfamily of طَهَTaha حُبُّكُمlove for you وَوَلاؤُكُمand allegiance to you
يا آلَ طَهَ حُبُّكُم وَوَلاؤُكُم
فَرضٌa duty وَإِنand even if عَذَلَreproached الوُشاةُthe slanderers وَلامُواand blamed
فَرضٌ وَإِن عَذَلَ الوُشاةُ وَلامُوا
O family of Taha, love for you and allegiance to you
O Family of Taha, loving and following you
Are a duty, even if slanderers reproach and blame.
Is an obligation even if the wicked blamed and found fault.
