O eminent one, whose standing has risen high,
O you who brought honor to his station
and whose integrity has distinguished his worth!
And maintained his worth through your protection

How many a wild, high-spirited one you have tamed,
How many a raging, hostile fool you've faced
whose arrogance laid waste to the crops!
Who would destroy the harvest with transgression

So his hand withdrew—how often havoc had been wreaked
So you've withdrawn your hand, and how much mischief
in every forbidden matter by his treachery!
In each forbidden act has met its cessation
