أَخاًa brother أراهُI deem him فيin العُلاthe heights of glory فَذّاpeerless
Against time and its calamities I have made ready
I brought a brother for time and its events
a brother I deem peerless in the heights of glory.
I see him in glory, so very clever
إنif شَذَّwas unusual مَعنىًa matter منamong تَصارِيفهِits vicissitudes
دفعتُI warded off ماwhat شذَّwas unusual بماwith what شَذَّاwas exceptional
If an unusual matter arises among its vicissitudes,
If an idea strays from its patterns
I ward off the unusual with the exceptional.
I repel what strays with one just as stray
لاno خلفَbreach of promise فيin ميعادِهhis promise إنif يَعِدhe promises
رأَيتَهُyou see him منbecause of صِدقِهhis truthfulness أَخذاbound
There is no breach in his promise; if he gives his word,
No failing his promise if he swears
you see him bound by his truthfulness.
You’d see him, so true to his word, keeping it
