للهمِّof sorrow والقُبحand ugliness جامِعاتِgathering together
للهمِّ والقُبح جامِعاتِ

لمdid not يَلتَفتturn ناظريmy gaze إليهاtoward them
لم يَلتَفت ناظري إليها
إلاexcept that تذكرتُI remembered سَيَّئاتيmy misdeeds
إلا تذكرتُ سَيَّئاتي
My gaze never turned toward them
My gaze never turned toward them
Without my remembering my sins.
without my recalling my misdeeds.
