طوبى لِعَبدٍ أكمَلَ الفَرضَا

وأَحسَنَ النِّيَّةَ والقَرضا
Blessed is a servant who fulfilled the prescribed duty,
Blessed is the servant who completes the duty,
And made good his intention and his charitable lending.
And intends good and fulfills the loan.

يَعرِضُ بَلواه على رَبِّهِ
ويَحذرُand he fears الموقِفَthe standing for judgment والعَرضاand the presentation for judgment
ويَحذرُ الموقِفَ والعَرضا
He lays his affliction before his Lord,
He presents his afflictions to his Lord,
And fears standing for judgment and being presented before Him.
And is wary of the station and presentation.

إلى السَّماءِ ابتَدَرَ الأَرضا
With tears as his constant companion, whenever he gazed
With lessons learned, no matter how he supplicates,
Toward the sky, he hastened to the ground.
To the heavens, seizing the earth.

If he could not attain a good deed at ease,
If he does not attain righteousness and supplication,
He tightened saddle and girth to journey toward it.
He journeys to it, his saddle and purpose.

How often he mistrusted what delighted him,
How evil is the suspicion of one made happy,
And called his soul to account, yet was not satisfied.
Who judges himself yet is not content.
