I have traversed the days from every side,

At times ascending through them, and at times descending.

The two mouths—dawn and a keen sword—betray me,

And the two hearts—dust and deep darkness—conceal me.

And the earth has cast me out, save for a desolate wilderness,

Where sight itself speaks to me, only to lie.
