إليكَ فَررتَ من لحظاتِ عينٍ
خلعتَyou wrenched out بهاwith it القلوبَthe hearts منfrom الصُّدورِthe breasts
خلعتَ بها القلوبَ من الصُّدورِ
To you, you fled from the glances of an eye.
To you I escaped from the glances of an eye
With it, you wrenched hearts from breasts.
With which you stripped hearts from chests
تسيلُflow معَwith الدموعِthe tears جفونُeyelids عينيmy eye
تسيلُ معَ الدموعِ جفونُ عيني
كماjust as سالَflowed الفؤادُthe heart معَwith الزَّفيرِthe sigh
كما سالَ الفؤادُ معَ الزَّفيرِ
The lids of my eye flow with the tears,
My eyelids flow with tears
as the heart flowed with the sigh.
As my heart flowed with sighs
