ياO ناصرَchampion of الدينthe faith هذاthis النصرُthe victory قدindeed نَزلاhas come
يا ناصرَ الدين هذا النصرُ قد نَزلا
وأخمدَand quenched اللَّهُGod كُفراًunbelief كانwas مُشتعلاablaze
وأخمدَ اللَّهُ كُفراً كان مُشتعلا
O champion of the faith, this victory has come.
O Nasser al-Din, victory has descended
And God has quenched unbelief that was ablaze.
And Allah has extinguished the blazing disbelief
حكَتْresembled حُنيناًHunayn وبدراًand Badr وقعةٌa battle نزلتْbefell
حكَتْ حُنيناً وبدراً وقعةٌ نزلتْ
بالمشركينupon the polytheists أراحتْfreed منهمُof them السُّبلاthe roads
بالمشركين أراحتْ منهمُ السُّبلا
A battle resembling Hunayn and Badr befell
Hunain and Badr told a tale, an event descended
the polytheists, ridding the roads of them.
Upon the polytheists, clearing the roads of them
لماwhen أحاطsurrounded ابنُson of إلياسٍIlyas بهمaround them يئسواthey despaired
لما أحاط ابنُ إلياسٍ بهم يئسوا
منof الحياةِlife وعِيضواand they were given instead الحْتفَdeath والهَبلاand bereavement
من الحياةِ وعِيضوا الحْتفَ والهَبلا
When Ibn Ilyas surrounded them, they despaired
When the son of Ilyas surrounded them, they despaired
of life, and were given death and bereavement instead.
Of life itself, biting their fingers and forearms
