اشربْdrink علىwith منظرٍa view أَنيقِlovely
اشربْ على منظرٍ أَنيقِ
وامزُجْand mingle بريقِwith the saliva of الحبيبِthe beloved رِيقيmy saliva
وامزُجْ بريقِ الحبيبِ رِيقي
Drink with a lovely view before you.
Drink to the sight of elegance
And mingle my saliva with the beloved’s.
And mix the gleam of the beloved with my saliva
واحْلُلْand loosen وشاحَthe sash of الكَعابِthe budding maiden رِفقاًgently
واحْلُلْ وشاحَ الكَعابِ رِفقاً
واحذَرْand take care علىof خَضرِهاher greenery (possibly a typo for 'her waist') الرَّقيقِdelicate
واحذَرْ على خَضرِها الرَّقيقِ
And gently loosen the budding maiden’s sash.
Don loosen gently the kerchief's wrap
And take care of her delicate greenery.
And beware of its delicate green
وقُلand say لمنto whoever لامَfound fault فيwith التَّصابيyouthful dalliance
وقُل لمن لامَ في التَّصابي
إليكَaway with you خلِّstand aside عنِfrom الطَّريقِthe way
إليكَ خلِّ عنِ الطَّريقِ
And tell whoever finds fault with youthful dalliance:
And say to who blamed me for persisting
Away with you—clear the way!
