Did the doves of al-Liwa lament, or did they sing?
Did the doves of the thicket sing out or moan?
And so the stirrings of his heart revealed what they had concealed.
Revealing the secrets held in their hearts, untold.

I would give my life for her who alone was
I ransom her who was once mine and no other's -
the soul's desire—or may she be granted what she wished.
Grant my soul its wish or let fate unfold.
