مُقنّعةِ المفارقِ بالقتيرِ
And one scented with the breath of perfume,
With the fragrance of roses in her breath,
Her hair-partings veiled with gray hair;
Veiled in parting's gloom and dust,
جَلتْهاunveiled her الكاسُthe cup فاطَّلعتْand so she appeared عليناbefore us
جَلتْها الكاسُ فاطَّلعتْ علينا

طُلوعَ البِكر في حُللِ الحريرِ
The cup unveiled her, and she rose before us,
Her goblet unveiled her to us
Like a maiden appearing in robes of silk.
Like the dawn rising in silken robes.

شموساً ألبِستْ خِلعَ البُدورِ
As though her cups were bearing from her
As though her cups carried
Suns clothed in the robes of full moons.
Suns clothed in the raiment of moons.

بصحنِ زُجاجها نارٌ بنورِ
As though her blend, when she shone forth
As though when her temperament appeared
In the bowl of her glass, were fire mingled with light.
In the glass's bowl, it was fire and light.

As though her surface were gold, upon which
As though her skin were gold
Lay wreaths of scattered pearls.
Adorned with plentiful pearls' wreaths.
