وَرديَّةٌrose-colored wine يَحملُهاhe carries it شادنٌa young gazelle
وَرديَّةٌ يَحملُها شادنٌ
فيin مُشْرَبِthe tinge of الحمرةِredness وَرْدِيِّrosy
في مُشْرَبِ الحمرةِ وَرْدِيِّ
Rose-colored wine is carried by a young gazelle,
rosy with a tinge of red.
كأنّهas though he والكأسُand the cup فيin كفِّهِhis palm
كأنّه والكأسُ في كفِّهِ
بدرُa full moon دُجىًnight's darkness يَسعَىmoves بدرِّيِّwith a radiant star
بدرُ دُجىً يَسعَى بدرِّيِّ
As though he, with the cup in his palm,
were a full moon in night's darkness, moving with a radiant star.
