كمmany a سَوْسَنٍlily لَطفَdealt gently الحياءُbashfulness بِلَونِهِwith its color
كم سَوْسَنٍ لَطفَ الحياءُ بِلَونِهِ
فَأصارَهُand so turned it وَرْداًa rose علىupon وَجْناتِهِhis cheeks
فَأصارَهُ وَرْداً على وَجْناتِهِ
How many a lily has bashfulness subtly touched in its hue,
Bashfulness has gently touched the color of many a lily,
and thereby turned it into a rose upon his cheeks.
And so turned it into a rose upon his cheeks.
