مُورَّدةٌ إذا دارتْ ثلاثاً

مُورَّدةٌ إذا دارتْ ثلاثاً

يُفتِّحُ وردُها ورْدَ الخدودِ

يُفتِّحُ وردُها ورْدَ الخدودِ

A rose-hued wine: when it goes round three times,

When a rose is turned thrice around,

its roses make the roses of cheeks bloom.

Its petals blush like cheeks aglow.

فإن مُزِجتْ تخالُ الشَّمس فيها

فإن مُزِجتْ تخالُ الشَّمس فيها

مطُبَّقةً على قَمرِ السُّعودِ

مطُبَّقةً على قَمرِ السُّعودِ

And if it is mixed, you imagine the sun within it,

If with saffron it's suffused,

layered over the moon of good fortune.

Like sun upon a full moon's bow.
