And when the distance holds the finest steeds back,
When the steeds of war grew restless at the length of the race,
and they give out from their breathless running,
And the frightened one was thrown by the fury of its pace,

loose my reins in the race, and stroke
Give me the reins, and stake your bets, then wipe the sweat
my blaze—the blaze of a renowned piebald steed.
From my glossy, famous, sleek and beautiful face.
